"Goddamn Russians," she says, and they're walking into some shit warehouse because Crews is all interested in talking a few of them down or some weird, stupid idea that involves fruits - because, jesus, it's Crews and leave it to his signature to become fucking orange peels or something.
But the warehouse is still legit and Dani's been tracking the Queen since she was sixteen because she's made a life out of finishing up family debt; it's not the smartest thing to do since Jack Reese never met a corner he couldn't talk himself out of or deal he couldn't close because now, now people are lookin' right at her and thinking, hey, hey she's going to be the same kind of thing. Doesn't bode well when there's a legit stake in their heart or whatever.

She's just tired. The gig at the bar can only take her so far with steady pay and senior year's wrapping up faster than she anticipated; her parents are ready for reality to hit, and she knows they're going to start throwing express mail choices up to her as soon as they can.
She can't remember how they meet though; it's a party and it's Mike's and remembering how she met Mike involves an odd story about Jesse and that's just something she just doesn't touch anymore. But it's towards the end of the night where she's a beer and half further than she wants to be (what's a little liquid courage anyway, really) and now in his lap, her knees digging into the couch. He's got a hand over her throat, his fingers dragging over her skin because she likes it and she's not just ready to kiss him yet. So she hums.

Santana wins. No one can really say what the argument's about; it's not important because Ben's dad is already jetting them across to some shit hole-sinkhole in the jungle because of some great, great, spectacular piece of gold art or whatever. Both boys are way too into this shit because there are machetes and cursing and Santana knows that she's going to win again and get this done because that's what she does. She gets shit done.
But Rachel's already there, and there's an actual camp, the smaller woman lounging around in a really sweet chair with her notes and her hair gathered at her neck. She's speaking with the locals and none of them can understand a thing because Ben's a dip and sort of shy, Puck's a legs man, and Santana's going to win this too because Rachel looks like she's getting shit done and hey, she can respect that.
