So my computer started making weird sounds. Not quite like a buzzing. I've had a hard time describing it unless you actually listen to it in person. Coming from the tower. I cleaned out the fan, thinking that might be the problem. But it still kept making the sound. So I do some googling, which all answers point to: "Your hard drive is about to die

you n me are in the same boat. Mine's roasted already but for some reason has been 'acting' okay for the past couple of weeks. I still have get a new hard drive. Trust me, new hd is a lot cheaper than new computer. a decent hard drive is $70 bucks. a GOOD one's a bit more, but still, cheaper than a new computer.
That, and weird sound could be the fan. Maybe make sure it's clean, might have to get it replaced.

Thanks. I'm still trying to work it out. I've never had any performance issues with my computer. Even now despite all the noise it makes, it's running fine.

This is one of those times I wish I'd gone to school for computers. :\
