Scroll 03

It would appear that I am now employed here - as a librarian. While I don't mind being around books for much of the day, I find it odd that all of the drones are treating me as if I have been working there for years. I take it this is, ah, "normal" for Mayfield ( Read more... )

A librarian? Enviable, if only it were a real library.

Indeed. 'Tis not a bad job, though. I rather enjoy being around books.

As for the problem with the books, to my eyes the selection is mostly books about the native tongue and its grammar. Mayfield insists on employing me as a schoolteacher, so I suppose that stands to reason.

Eh? You work at the library now? I should come see you sometime! But yeah, the drone thing? That's normal for this place. You gotta remember they think they've known you all their lives.

Aaaah what really?! *u* fateful_chains June 17 2010, 03:36:12 UTC
Yes, it would appear so. Please do, if you have the time. Seeing a friendly face does wonders to improve one's mood.

I don't believe I'll ever get used to that...

Sure, I'll come pester you then. But yeah, me neither. It's just so so...aw hell, it's really creepy.

Oh man that's such a huge compliment THANK YOU fateful_chains June 17 2010, 03:46:16 UTC
It truly is. The drones are... unsettling, to say the least.

I work there as well. I can assure you it is quite normal. As unfortunalty is the other thing you mentioned.

Yes, 'tis what I had feared.

Do you find it enjoyable, working at the library?

It is...quiet for the most part. And even though the book selection is truely deplorable I do enjoy working in a place surrounded by books.

What kinds of books do you have access to, if I may ask?

hope you don't mind backtagging sob. just now saw this mymic June 28 2010, 04:49:27 UTC
A librarian?

...certainly, that wouldn't be all a library would have. What about books on history, or science? Even my own library back home in the castle has such books. [though certainly biased against humans]

No worries, I miss posts too! Backtagging is fine. :3 fateful_chains June 28 2010, 08:17:31 UTC
Indeed.

Yes, 'tis the same with all other libraries I've been in. Not here, however.

...how interesting. In a case like this, I would rule out all the books on other subjects being checked out, but with the amount of people supposedly in this town, it's hard to tell.

Of course, perhaps if one looks hard enough, other books can be found. Hm...in a way, it makes me wonder if this town would give me books from my own castle.

Would you like me to look into this a bit?

Awww that's so sweet! fateful_chains June 28 2010, 08:50:27 UTC
It seems that the town only allows us access to books it deems appropriate for us - I can find many books on cooking and sewing and the link, but nothing with any substance at all.

If you'd like. I only ask that you are careful.
