An innocently tilted head, as though he doesn't know the reason. A hand reaches up to cup Carlisle's face, and scarlet eyes widen saying, I see.
Voice soft. Eyes probing, hand trailing down to wrap around his neck. "I don't want you to leave, Carlisle."
And the young vampire doesn't want to go either, struggling against remaining where his heart is and finding where his soul needs to be. This place is stifling him, and he's buffered by temptation on every side -- not the least of which is standing in front of him.
He aches to lean forward and leave a last kiss on those lips.
With an effort he manages a hoarse, "I know."
