Mulder's much better at navigating Virgina in the daylight and after they leave his mother both of them are in reasonably good spirits

"Hmm?" He's trying to concentrate on where he's going. They're in Virginia and he's supposed to know where he's going. His quota of "ask Scully for directions" moments has been reached for this trip and he doesn't want to get lost.
Taking a moment to glance over at Scully when she doesn't answer, he frowns. She almost looks literally green.
"Yes," she swallows and undoes her seat belt as the car stops by the curb. She knows this baseball field from when Bill and Charlie were young. She threw up here once then too.
Slipping out of the car, she makes it over the old iron grating for the storm sewer before she starts to vomit. Keeping her hands on her knees, she finishes retching before she tries lifting her head.
She takes a sip, spits it and and repeats that a few times. Her head hurts, but it's jut a dull ache. She nods to Mulder and makes a face.
"Thirty years of my life, not carsick. Now?" She reaches for his hand and squeezes it. "There's part of me that just wants to walk from here." She manages to smile.

He holds out a bottle of water for her to rinse her mouth with.
