A cab in LA, later Sunday night

Apr 13, 2008 18:53

About an hour after dragging Kristine from the bar, they were still driving around. Because Kristine couldn't remember how to get to where she lived, and it wasn't like Jaye knew. And considering she wasn't paying for any of this, she wouldn't have cared if it didn't mean riding in the back of a cab with a drunk girl who kept trying to pass out rather than give the driver any actual instructions, or an address.

When she went to check the time on her phone, she saw that she had a message. And upon listening to it, she needed to leave another.

Seeing the driver look at her oddly in the rearview mirror, she said, "You know what, can you just take me to the Hyperion Hotel?"

No, it didn't occur to her to maybe give Kristine a place to stay in the huge building for the night. She just wanted to get home, and the world's least fun bartime friend could fend for her own drunk ass. Except that's when she heard some muffled sound from her purse.

"Oh, not you again," she snapped at it.

Another curious glance in the rearview, and Jaye sighed, "Or we can just drive around UCLA. I hope she brought her credit card."
