Name that reference

Work going well, but complicated.

Actual post about life coming soon.

But for now, I sketched these yesterday while waiting for aubli to get home from school. 5 points to whoever guesses who I used for references for three of them.

Pictures, weeee )

It's true! I think I did most of that one fairly well, but the face looks nothing like you and that makes me sad.

I should add some of the shots from our last shoot to my drawing references folder. Some of those were so good.

Is the first one of me too? I can't tell.

Is the first one me? I was like, I recognize that dress, but that's not really my hair, and I'm not sure if there's a picture of me like that on the net. I had to check my deviantART to be sure. Sorry I took so long to write this. I've been in Vegas this last week. The Venetian rocks and everyone should stay there. I hope this is coherent. I just got off the plane and am still fucked up from my 5 or 6 cocktails.

It is! I'm glad it's at least good enough that it got your attention. I don't think I did any aspect of the head especially well and I added the bits off hair off to the side. But I think the rest of it I did pretty well. Lately my attempts to sketch people without references (and sometimes with) have led to slightly shorter legs than I'd like and I thought that using some of your shots would help me break out of that, what with your incredibly long legs :)

That's funny that you think that. I've always thought that my legs are too short for my torso (which is quite long for my height), and just sort of short in general. I must be a good trick photographer or something. I think proportion-wise, the one of Carolyn with the parasol looks more accurate. I have trouble with proportion too. Drawing books always say that you should start by making a rough outline, getting all the proportions right, and then go back and fill in the drawing. That helps for me anyway.
