Yeah, I started watching this when it first came out and actually have seen the movies (possibly because I was waiting for things to get better. I'm such an optimist >.>), but it left me with an unsatisfied taste in my mouth.

I thought it had potential at the beginning, despite Saki. I thought Akira was interesting enough, but I wish his "love interest" was less insipid and cold :( . Whatever chemistry they had at the beginning didn't really developed at the end and just plateau sometime in the middle and stay that way.

It also got really boring on the main plot and dragged. Too bad, I thought it got potential if done right.

That was exactly how I felt as well. I didn't get the romance at all and the plot just wasn't engaging enough. You never really get into Akira's head, he just seems too happy go lucky.
