Personal Update

I haven't been updating my LJ for a while, even though I'm still reading loads of new and staying updated on old series. Mostly because I had been toying w/ joining the scanlation side of things. That's great news. Congrats :) I hope it goes well for you there and doesn't become too stressful for you. I agree with your last part, newbies shouldn't be rejected as fresh blood is always needed and it's good to train them and that way *cough*you can teach them things your way and make them do it your way without them thinking you are forcing your way on them*cough*. Some groups do say experience is not needed (but few of them) so yeah, volunteering new bunnies can become good asset ;)

Thanks! So far it hasn't been stressful.

I think pretty much all groups are lying about the no experience needed. The first thing groups ask you is either a test or if you've had experience, which is pretty intimidating. I just find it hyprocritical for so many groups to beg for more staff, but aren't willing to train volunteers. It doesn't take much to train someone or point them in the right direction w/ guides and so forth. I've picked up everything I know in 2 weeks on my own skimming all the scanlation guides out there. And I know I've got a lot more to learn.

But I wrapped up 6 chapters in 2.5 weeks, and looking for more work. So I'm estatic about the experience. It's been fun and I like giving a bit back to all the people I leeched from. LOL
