Well, apparently it is time once again for my quarterly plea on behalf of anime, as it recently came to my attention that people seem to have a very different image of anime than I ever have. It's not like I'm out there watching Speed Racer and Pokemon

I've only recently been introduced to good anime, thanks to Netflix, in the form of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. I followed that with Howl's Moving Castle, and I have Spirited Away waiting for me now. I haven't tried any series yet, but maybe I will now!

UPDATE: I went and added all your recommendations to my Netflix list (My Neighbor Totoro is the only one I already had), and I discovered that Last Exile is available through Watch Instantly, for anyone interested.

I saw Nausicaa recently, too. B is a huge Miyazaki fan; me not so much, but I know many people LOVE his work; it's so imaginative.

Thank you also for the update; I'm so glad they're all available on Netflix! I got Princess Tutu and The Children of Befort for Christmas and I'm SO HAPPY; I've been combing through all the extras on Tutu.
