Today was far, far easier in a lot of ways, but then again...I'm eating today. I didn't eat a lot though, which sort of surprised me. There was the oatmeal this morning, then lunch was a couple of whole grain crackers and a couple tablespoons of hummus. This cold has moved into my sinuses, so I just felt like sleeping.
So, of course, I try to nap, right? Hahahahaha! Bring on the Restless Leg Syndrome! I've had this for years, my mom has it, my brother has it, and just about everyone on my mother's side of the family has it. Usually, I do a few stretches, then curl up and sleep anyhow, ignoring it. Not today, nope. I zoned in and out for about 2 hours while my legs did the tango without my permission or even a decent dance partner! Hmpf!
Finally I got up, got a shower, and putzed a bit, then decided to make my dinner. Dinner. Oh, dinner. OHGODGOOD dinner. Here was dinner:
Salad: 1/2 diced avocado mixed with 1/2 diced organic beefsteak tomato. Toss together with sea salt. Ate while cooking the rest of dinner.
Dinner: 1/2 cup quinoa cooked in chicken bullion, 1/2 lbs. baby spinach sauteed in olive oil, other 1/2 of diced beefsteak tomato. Toss quinoa with some turmeric, paprika, cumin, and garlic powder, toss in the spinach and tomato, squeeze half a lemon over the whole shebang and mix it up. Oh. My. God. Heaven in a bowl. Pure, amazing heaven in a bowl. I went heavy on the turmeric, since it's an antiinflammatory, and I'm glad I did. Yummy!
After dinner, I went to tai chi for an hour and a half. I'm wiped now, as we worked really hard, but feeling very content and relaxed. And stuffy, but that'll take care of itself before long. I hit the grocery store on the way home, and guess what? It's strawberry season! Wheeeeeee!
