Its an interesting batch of reviews here. A nice looking mix of films that have been favourites of mine for a while and films I haven't seen or heard of.
Its kind of interesting the way Moviebuffs is shaping up in that regard: There are only a few of us posting now and rarely is the focus on new movies fresh in the cinema but usually a mix of fairly recent, older classics and the fairly obscure.Maybe thats the way more of us are watching movies now (through dvds and Netflix etc). I'm quite enjoying it, though its a pity there aren't more of us in here.
Thanks for the comment. Just got back from a short break. I'm trying to gradually catch up with all the movies I've seen just before or after switching locations. The "Inside Man" review is actually because I've been wanting to do a "very best" list for 2006 and I've checked out a number of films from that year to see how they hold up.
Was recently hit by Lovefilm closing up shop. Fortunately it turns out there's a company called Cinema Paradiso that are still going strong.
Not been re-posting to Moviebuffs or keeping much of an eye out on livejournal, I must be honest. I'm posting reviews to Tumblr, Livejournal and Letterboxd so that I've got them backed up in multiple places. Would really recommend you give Letterboxd a go. It's really cool to be able to friend people who either have sensible choices about films or who have something interesting to say, even when they differ from the typical viewpoint. It often helps when deciding whether you are likely to enjoy a film or not. Much more handy than Rotten Tomatoes, that's for sure.
