I keep meaning to see Beasts of No Nation because I love Idris Elba, but it just sounds so long and depressing. Argh.
Your review of Wonder Woman is incredibly cathartic, I must say. I didn't see it when it came out, and everyone was going on about how great it was, and the most feminist thing ever, and they were crying, etc. I finally watched it and it was a paint-by-numbers superhero origin story (save the truly glorious scene you mention) with a predictable climax where the good guy and the bad guy shoot CGI at each other. The only good thing about it was that the love interest died. Otherwise it was Man of Steel meets My Fair Lady and not in a good way.
Did you even like the Punisher? I'm a big Garth Ennis fan and "Welcome Back Frank" is one of my favourite graphic novels, so for this version of the Punisher I was seriously like, "Oh f*** yeah!"
I haven't read much of it. The concept just kind of squicks me. I did think he was the best thing about Daredevil season 2, but that's not saying very much.
They did do The Thing where they chose a song that I have a massive soft spot for the trailer and I will totally give it a chance.
I'm cautiously excited for Hellboy, but for me, the first one is a damned near perfect film and it's hard to hold anything up to that.
