As I'd hoped it is all mostly the same here in Pendleton. I knew not to expect any different. Unlike when I came back here in '01 and expected sky scrapers and flying cars. I haven't decided if its really depressing or heartwarming that its the same

Also, while I applaud good grammar, even attempts at good grammar, let me point that the word "who" does exist, and in both of the cases in which you opted for the word "whom," it should have been used.
The secret is realizing that the word "whom" is an objective pronoun. It's called this because it behaves as a object in sentences. For example, you wouldn't say, "That beard trimmer covered in blood and ripped out red hair belongs to who?" "To who" is a prepositional phrase, and "who" is the object in said phrase. "Whom" would be the correct word.
