I can't believe Supernatural is doing a Leviathan story

I'm catching up on Supernatural episodes, and I can't believe they're doing a Leviathan run. Every time they say "Leviathan," I think, "Nooooo! Run! This is the storyline that killed Dark Shadows

Did you see the latest episode? Where they totally stole the solution to fighting the Leviathan right out of "Dealing with Dragons" by Patricia C. Wrede? Yet it was one of the better episodes of the season. I don't know, things have been really hit or miss the last three years on Supernatural.
