I use the term "hoi polloi" in the derogatory, but I know that I'm actually talking about myself.

I care that the fed no longer reports M3.

I live in DC and am totally lost!

No one says hoi aristoi, because its members don't talk about themselves with that variety of descriptor. I didn't even know the term until recently, when I read a funny little young adult novel about coolhunting.

We went to DC just a little while ago, for the bare-branched cherry blossom festival. I didn't know you'd already ditched Florida, but I am sure you are happy you did. Washington really is pretty.

I liked stopping in a grocery store on the outskirts and realizing we had the only white faces, feeling the white flight to Virginia like a big fat whoosh.

Congratulations on the job. It's perfect for you and I hope it stimulates as deserved.

aaron and i are moving to ann arbor in july. i'm aiming to get a job working at the ford library.

Sometimes it worries me when I don't perfectly remember the sound of your voice, but I just told Abel last night how we did the twist at Nunally's beach house and knew we'd be okay. Remember that? It was the night after Gabe made the horror movie. I still laugh every time I think of you saying, "Let's get those cunts!" like a macho standard.

Abel and I were watching Infamous (really good, if you haven't seen it yet) and the scene when Babe Paley and Slim Keith broke out in the twist reminded me of you -- the balance of romantic outburst and seriousness.
