[Tumnus has been doing a fair job in keeping himself from hiding in his room all the time. He met Samantha recently and bumped into Odette .. both options were better than simply hiding and avoiding everyone altogether, right

[Don't worry about perfection! Lily doesn't mind. It really isn't long before she's strolling into the Great Hall, record tucked under her arm. Ah, there's her potential new friend! Lily breaks into a jog.]
[Tumnus glances up at the sound of someone approaching and smiles as Lily makes her way over. There is a moment when she sees him that he thinks it might be the same thing all over, but she just rolls with iit and this brings him no small amount of happiness.
His smile broadens and he bobs his head once in assertion.]
Yes, my name is Tumnus; and, thank you.
[He lifts a hoof and glances briefly at it, not really finding them altogether 'cool' but pleased she likes them.]
Please, have a seat... there is plenty of room. Would you care for some tea or biscuits? I would presume so, yes?
[Tumnus smiles warmly at the girl child, moving to fold one arm across his abdomen before bowing in a perfect gentlemanly manner.]
The pleasure, Lily, Daughter of Eve, is entirely mine.
[She takes a seat and he picks up a tray of sugared biscuits and brings them 'round to her with a welcome smile of offering.]
A bit of flour and sugar is all it takes, but yes, I did. The tea is peppermint, but I would be happy to brew you something different if you would prefer?
[Tumnus flashes a grin and laughs softly, moving to add a generous amount of both sugar and cream to her tea cup. He then stirs the mixture witha small spoon before passing the cup to Lily. He studies her for a moment, lost in the feeling of familiarity.
When she asks abou the biscuits she pulls him from his thoughts with a slight start.]
What?! Oh, I'm sorry... They are a fairly simple mixture of flour, sugar, butter and vanilla; with a few eggs and other odds and ends. Lucy once told me they were also known as sugar cookies to some, but I've always called them biscuits. [He smiles and moves to claim his own cup of tea.]
I would be happy to teach you how to make them sometime...?
[I'm going to warn you right now: cooking is not and will never be a talent of Lily's. She's one of those people that thinks if you cook something at double the recommended heat it will cook two times faster. Keep her away from ovens. BUT. Nobody knows that yet. It will be amusing in the future.
Lily takes her teacup and sips at it as delicately as she can (which isn't very delicate at all, but she's working on it). Wow, this is excellent! Way better than plain Earl Grey.]
[If she loved to learn, then Tumnus would love to teach!! He smiles brightly, his expression soft and welcoming, having no idea how terribly wrong the attempts would be. Let's plot a small fire or something, shall we?! XD ]
Then I would be absolutely delighted to show you, Lily! As for Lucy...
[Oh, but she was a painful subject; his Lucy...]
She was my dearest friend...
[And you remind him awfully of her, Lily... Even if you're a kickass battle loli and several years older than she was on her arrival to Narnia. He watched that little girl grow up right before his eyes.]
[DEFINITELY. Setting shit on fire is an accidental skill of Lily's.
Dearest friend. Lily can't imagine how it feels to lose someone like that - and she lost her entire family. She'd rather have them dead, though, than living their lives the way they were.]
Well, hey, maybe she'll come here! I've been told people can be taken at different times from the same world, or something like that.
[If she doesn't... Well, Lily will gladly be Lucy's replacement.]
[The idea of setting fire to one of the kitchens shouldn't be as amusing as it is. XD
He looks at her curiously as she responds, his ears flicking toward her before his expression softens considerably. The innocence of children was something the faun forgot from time to time...]
You are most correct, young Lily. There is always the chance that she still might join us here. Thank you, dear child, for reminding me of such.
[Tumnus could use a new Lucy. He never felt as at peace as when he was offering her a kind word or advice. To serve as Lily's adviser and friend would be good for the soul, yo.]
No problem. It's a nice thing to think about. It's kind ooof... comforting, I guess?
[Lily's kind of on the fence about the whole time-travel selection thing. On one hand, she misses her brothers and sisters, but on the other, she's kind of glad they're dead. It means they're not living the way they were anymore.
Tumnus' smile is soft as Lily continues, nodding his head in silent reply. There was a comforting thing in the trust and innocence of youth that made the faun hope she was indeed correct.
he wasn't too certain how much he believed of what they'd been told, but after some of the things he'd lived through in the past it wasn't completely unlikely. That scared him.
He pulls himself from his thoughts at her next question.]
Hmm? Oh... Well, it was a place called Narnia and it was quite similar to this place in design and age. Old creatures of magic, both light and dark. We were ruled by the Kings and Queens and our lives have bee peaceful and comfortable for many years now. Not always, mind, but for a good long time...
Hey, yeah, I'll be there in a second!

Oh! Oh, g-g-good!
[He now commences to move around the table and tweak things until they're perfect, readjusting napkins for the 5th or 6th time.]

Hey, hi! You're the guy from the record, right?
[Lily stops, stares, and smiles.]
I like your legs, they're really cool.

[Oh my god his ears are so cute.
Lily sits down. Wow, all this stuff looks so good! Lily's had biscuits before, sure, but they didn't look this delicious.]
Yeah, I would! Did you make all of this?

Oh wow, Tumnus, this is great! A million times better than the ones back home.

Excellent!

I am glad you like them, Lily, and I thank you. I can manage simple enough fare, so that it pleases you pleases me. Cream or sugar?

[Universal constant in every rp I ever join: Lily likes sugar. Fight me.
Lily seriously chows down on those biscuits. Damn, they're delicious. How can something so simple be so amazing? She MUST know.]
How are these made? The biscuits, I mean.
