have no idea what a "lassi" is, but if it's a mango one it is prob'ly delicious (and i'd guess a kind of pie or cocktail?) ;-)

from wikipedia:

Lassi is a traditional South Asian beverage, originally from Punjab made by blending yogurt with water, salt, and spices until frothy. Yogurt is mentioned in ancient Indian texts, and so is buttermilk. Yogurt sweetened with honey is used in Hindu rituals. Traditional lassi is sometimes flavored with ground roasted cumin. The Lassi of the Punjab sometimes uses a little milk and is topped with a thin layer of malai, a clotted cream, also known as Devonshire cream. Lassis are enjoyed chilled as a hot-weather refreshment. With a little turmeric powder mixed in, it is also used as a folk remedy for gastroenteritis.

The version I made consisted of two mangoes, 2 cups whole milk yogurt, 1 c milk, 1 c water, 1 tsp cardamom, and a teaspoon of rose water for sweetening. The version I made I can see being a VERY acquired taste, while the ones I've had restaurant-made were wonderful. Rumor also has it I need to track down other than grocery store mangoes, but we'll see.

Mango lassi - yum... I need to explore more recipes with rose water. I have been hearing good things about that, too.

it's the first recaipe i can recall finding with it, though a lot of Indian cooking includes it. Like many other things I've tried as of late, I haven't tasted anything quite like it before.

I've heard it being a secret ingredient for someone's Greek/Middle Eastern rice pudding as well... must be something more common on that side of the globe... do you buy that in Indian groceries, too, or some other secret cooking type store?

We found it in a grocery called Masala Market out in Kalamazoo. My guess is you'd find it in most Indian grocery stores.
