New York fuckin' City. Nice to visit, but I wouldn't want to rent an apartment there ( Read more... )

When I perfect sleeping like a vampire by hanging by my ankles I'm goanna rent myself a 100 square foot closet on the Lower East Side for $3000/month.

Also, subletting for 10 days?! That's nuts. Best of luck with that.

the vampire thing's a good idea, but I worry that you, sir, are drifting in the wrong direction. Last time I looked up "gothy" on google image search, the ol' Jeff-on-a-tombstone pic was nowhere to be found.

you could totally find people, at least for those 2 weekends. one time i went to new york and instead of staying at a hotel, i went on craig's list and found someone that was renting out their apartment for $80/day. you might have to provide like a bed, sheets, and a couple of towels or something. the way it worked was that i paid them via paypal and then they fedex'd the keys. worked perfectly.

yeah, I was thinking that maybe we could rent it out like a hotel. Unfortunately, the place won't have any furniture yet. Plus I've never actually used paypal before, and the idea of fedexing the keys to complete strangers sounds sketchy at best.

Plus Morningside Heights/Harlem is kinda way the hell away from wherever most people would want to stay in the city.

yeah, i guess it is a little bit although i felt kind of nervous about sending money to some strange person in nyc. i think it's one of those situations where both parties are so vulnerable that scammers would never really enter into that.
but yeah, you'd probably need a bed and some curtains or something.

curtains would be pretty key. The neighbors' windows are about 4 feet away.
