Romney is at least earnest. You can't say he's any worse than any other Republican--in fact, he sounds like the typical Republican. But he at least believes what he says. He's also completely ouot of touch with everyone who isn't in the "one percent."
Santorum is a human slug. Not only is he almost totally fucking stupid, he believes eveyone else is, and his hypocrisy and ignorance are tangible and palpable. He's not even worthy of contempt. I have the revulsion for him I'd feel for a cockroach on the garage floor.
Gingrich is at least intelligent. I don't agree with any of his "ideas," which are a throwback to the worst impulses of conservatism in America. His intelligence is unfortunately turned to the same conservative propaganda that the rest of them espouse.
Paul is the most unconventional of them all. He has the best ideas, and he acts the role of a politician as though no one else had ever done it before him. He's not like the others. He's not electable. That's an indictment of our society, not of Paul.
The one percent probably doesn't like Ron Paul at all. Look at where Paul get most of his money from... Not those people. Not to mention if he actually COULD end the Fed, that'd cut off the flow of grease to a heck of a lot of those banksters.
p.s. I don't think Romney's earnest at all, at least the way he's been going back and forth on things. But you're right- he's really not much worse than any run of the mill Republican or even politician.
I don't care whether a candidate is conventional. I care whether someone actually has a real plan of fixing the country or just keeping going with the old business-as-usual politics. I want a person who actually means what he says and says what he means instead of changing his tune every other day according to the poll numbers.
Well, it appears that kind of person isn't "electable".
