I completely forgot to mention that, for the second time since meeting Carissa, I procured a stuffed animal from one of those claw machines over the weekend. It's a pony. We quickly named it Unicorn. Ben made it do a little dance. The end.

The weekend in Pennsylvania (I almost typed "at home" which, in some way, it always will be) was fantastic. It was wonderful, as always, to spend time with my Mom. In less than 25 minutes, I'll leave work and meet Carissa at South Station. Then, we're off to the Lehigh Valley for a weekend o' fun. The weather is supposed to be beautiful all weekend and we get to gorge ourselves on Red Robin burgers and Rita's and Waffle House and...

D.C. progressive mag Washington Monthly names Penn State the third best national university in the U.S. As an alumnus, I find it difficult to disagree. At the very least, someone is questioning U.S. News and their oft-quoted but poorly done rankings.

Apparently, AOL released search data for 650,000 users. They then apologized.

Also, you can download the entire data set here. As much as I love data analysis, even I wouldn't want to plow through a 2-gig data set of user queries.

The weekend has barely passed and I long for it already. At least I'm only working a half day on Friday and then leaving for PA. I'm excited about our little jaunt to the Lehigh Valley. It's nice to leave the city once in a while and visit with friends and family.
