1. Random, but extraordinary; it defines you for me: you amaze me with your calm and patience. And believe me, having dabbled for a few hours a day, a lifetime ago, in what you do 24/7, I was constantly being told I was “so patient,” and I really wasn’t - I never saw it like that. I hated the label for reasons you probably do, but I won’t go into those here. But oh, my, you are nonstop, you are a rock, and you do so with such a smooth, graceful air I felt like I was watching a real life ballet. In a former life, you must have been one of those guys who juggles a dozen spinning plates, all at once, in the air, and never broke a one. The difference is, they get to take the plates down once in a while

Oh, so we get to reply, too? Sweet!
1. Hope they were good tears -- this was sincere, and that doesn't happen from me too often! :P
3. I KNEW it!!!!
5. Phew. I so couldn't figure out how someone could be from a normal family and ... uh ... one of us. I'm relieved to know that your family thinks of you the way mine thinks of me.
7. We can fix that for you -- an intervention!
Get those numbers out! I may be driving to work while you're still up in the evening... :P
I love Scotsmen! :}fauxcynicMay 5 2010, 02:27:12 UTC
1. I am stunned by how much you know and how bright you are - as demonstrated by our mutual friend who keeps saying, “one day she’s gonna figure out how bright she is and stop talking to us.” The enthusiasm you have for learning and knowing, and over such a huge range of topics, is infectious. It’s so great to find someone who so loves knowledge for knowledge’s sake, and thinks that learning is cool because there are just so many cool things out there to learn

1 It's still pretty amazing that there are people who consider geeky enthusiasm a nice characteristic instead of an utterly weird, better hidden phenomena and can comprehend the notion of knowledge for knowledge's sake. (When usually both leads to endless justification in the world of 'How does it pay out in something solidly useable

1. Well, there are always those pockets of like-minded types (a large of them labeled "university") that ensure a community of like-minded, though maybe oddly assorted, geeks!
3. The telling part was that you were able to comply! :o
5. Standard, maybe, in your neck of the literal woods -- sadly, in these woods, here, we have a large percentage of people here who can't honestly claim proficiency in their one, native language!
6. Then those nearish-locals should be around to help get through the unfamiliarity and bad moments...
7. I ain't believin' it -- and not selfish in relying, just back to the interest noted in #1.

1. You’re such an interesting balance of fic creativity, RL sports (playing and watching) and RL studies in a science field (still?) Your energy and passion for all of them seems fairly evenly distributed among them - and I bet you’re one of the very few in ficdom for whom that’s true

1. Still a chemistry major. As a college junior now, safe to say that one's going to stick.
2. lol hockey and zombies pretty much sums up my personality.
4. I can swim but do so quite badly. =)
5.I think there are two in RL who know about me in fandom. One's my bff, one's the person who introduced me to all this stuff. It's kind of secret hushhush.
7. I seem to be wandering farther and farther away, huh? But there are good things about it too. Did I ever tell you I sold a short story last fall? Because I did and it's kind of awesome. =)

1. Sez you. There's still time. I started off in a BFA program in theater and stayed thru my junior year. By the end of undergrad, though (and still in 4 yrs) I was at a different college, having started & dropped a speech & hearing major doubled with BS program in theater (which it was, actually) then finally ended up with Deaf Ed & theater double major--
I'm just sayin' it can be done. Not wisely, but done.
2. What else could there be?
4. Badly, but with grace and style?
5. Ha! Excellent. Another one hiding under the bed. Welcome; it's getting crowded under here.
7. Congratulations! That's great news about your sale. Pimping it anywhere?
