Portugal, Part 3: Lisbon plus Cascais and Sintra

The train trip from Porto to Lisbon was crowded, but seats are preassigned so it was fine. Overall, it takes a little over 3 hours and cost EUR 33 in second class. You can get off at either of two stations - Oriente or Santa Apolonia I chose the latter since it let me get to my hotel without having to change metro lines. Note, however, that ( Read more... )

Sounds like a fun trip and I agree with your on that Pan tile. Wondering what the aim was - jsut a poor rendition or something else. Thanks for taking us along! :D

When I did a quick scroll through your photos, I did a double take wondering how you got from Portugal to San Francisco.

Europe never fails to amaze me in how much different, and just more interesting it is, than the US. I mean, we have some great places here too, but we don't have Moorish fountains or ornate cathedrals.

The resemblance of those bridges is really remarkable.

We do have some ornate cathedrals and plenty of great architecture, too. Mostly we're rather short of castles and palaces.

True about the architecture. I could not stop taking pictures of the buildings in NYC.
