OH!!!! This is FANTABULOUS!!! And an utterly flawless response to the prompt!!! I can relate to every single word here and you've done a wonderful job presenting your memories/feelings/thoughts about these sorts of activities and crafts. I'm so happy to read this.

Have you thought about trying arm knitting?
(Knitting needles not needed for this--you actually knit on your arms.)

Arm knitting sounds like fun. Unfortunately, I don't know if I have the appropriate type of yarn, and I threw out my shoulder recently. Here's hoping it's not a torn ligament or three. Still, maybe I can help inspire my daughter to create a project.

I was actually thinking about telling a story related to this take on the prompt as well, because I remember making these growing up, and then tying them together at the ends and turning them into friendship bracelets.... it would be the lead-in to the group of girls I was connected to growing up, but then activities kept me busy until deadline day, and my baby was fussy pretty much all. day. long. so I didn't get the chance to tell that story and had to take a faster route, but I'm glad to see someone else had the same idea.
