The translator pretty much relayed what she said in Japanese....that sentence was just weird, I think Namie realized halfway through she was saying that she'd continue for one or two more years and then tacked on "as long as I can!" at the end.
Whatever anyone's feelings on Madonna are, at her age she's still definitely putting on singing/dancing concerts, so I don't doubt if Namie wanted to she could continue for quite a while longer.
I remembered that she said a bunch of times before that she admires Madonna for continuing on as long as she has. And really, with her attitude that made her continue as long as she has today in Japan, I doubt she'd want to stop any time soon. I think Namie just said 1 to 2 years just because that's the immediate future. You can only plan your life so much in advance. Say she had a life-threatening injury or her vocal chords were really adversely affected, I would hope for her sake that she would take care of herself. But this is Namie we're talking about, and if Madge can work it at 50+, I have no doubt that Namie can either. She's Okinawan. Come on.
