So far, it's been easy enough on me. I have not been hit by a curse yet.

Oh, right! Pleased to meet you. My name is Shushou.

A pleasure, Miss Shushou. I must say that you've been quite fortunate to have gone so long without being cursed.

I'm aware of that, and I certainly hope my luck will hold out a while longer.

Perhaps beings from your world have a higher resistance to the curses? Hm, I should have my people survey the populace on such a possibility...

Huh... you think that's a possibility?

Do you usually investigate these things?

It's possible. But of course, we'll have to look into it before coming to any conclusion.

I have a research company called ARTEMIS that looks into the mysteries of the City.

It gave me something to do when I first was brought here, and seems to be working well.

It's a constant work in progress. Research, tests, interviews, etc etc... these things take time. But I'm hopeful.

... how long have you been doing this, and with what results?

ARTEMIS is just under one year old at this point. But for your question, it would very much depend on which project you're speaking about in order to answer it. For the most part, we've had the most success in documenting the various anomalies that have struck this City in the last year.

One must understand something in order to change it.

You have to keep in mind that any research facility needs time to be successful, and we do have the deities working against us to contend with...

[Muttered:]Documenting things is kind of the easy part...

Right. I do understand those points.

True enough~ except when members are cursed and destroy the work they've so diligently put together. Or either are unable to work or vanish from the City entirely.

You can see the challenge in keeping anything together at all...

Oh, so even that happens? I admit I wasn't thinking of that.

Yes, I see it clearly now.
