The Old Testament is rather harsh in its judgments...

And war is harsh in the toll it takes on so many lives.

The Old Testament has amazing imagery; but it is the fire and brimstone part of the bible which of course made me think of WWII.

OUCH. And ouch again.

Can't say much more, it hurts where it should!

Thank you.

Thanks for reading and commenting, and big thanks for a lovely prompt that got the writing juices flowing. I changed the biblical quotation slightly to use the King James version which is what a Church of England member would have been familiar with in 1939. But I thought you'd be OK with that.

August looks like a good start, and I am sure your imaginative prompts are helping.

Beautiful and succinct. I definitely enjoy finding that the prompt inspired a larger tale, and that urb_banal's inventive alternate challenges are getting a great work out this week! Well done, fawatson :D

The use of the verse was a very powerful turn of emotion. Well done. You're the first one of the 'Bone' writers I've noticed to use the add on challenge.

I hope you'll share the larger work with us when you have more finished.
