OOOOH dear me... I didn't see this to vote for it. I'm so sorry. It is a superb tale of what IS everytime anyone sees a loved one off to war, or disturbance or doing even a humanitarian job somewhere difficult.

That last paragraph really GOT me.... That's how we were in the war. Bye Bye Uncle Pip... Bye Bye Albert.... waves and smiles.

Even at eleven the pain was immense.

Thank you very very much - you packed a whole life in here.

I am glad you liked it. I plan to continue the tale using 'skin', though the whole will undoubtedly be a bit disjointed until I out all four parts together.

Never fear, blue. Voting for week 2 hasn't happened yet :)

Not that voting is the most important thing. Never having won any week, I still enjoy the writing and reading, commenting and receiving comments, which are, I think, more important.

A lovely continuation of the story and a mother's emotions in having her son taken from her...

Yes I saw the Wartime Farm too, done by the same people who did the Victorian Farm and Edwardian Farm, and before that one about the 17th C farm (which was the first). A very interesting series. Thanks for commenting.

I like Lucy. She's got the proper outward appearance but inside she's so much more interesting.

I hope Laurie makes it home from the war in one piece.

Glad you've been able to utilize the prompts to further your story.
