I'd really like to do the second option. I'm willing to take on more work. Like, I could be a backup contest-maker or something, say if an HOH couldn't get up their contest for a week. I dunno, just throwing that idea out there, don't want to step on any HOH toes, though. I could really take on any slack work that was needed, I've got the time.

I think maybe a mixture of 2 and 3 would be better.

HOH's can run contests and maybe elect prefects for each house to take care of the common room. Or yyou caould have HOH's & Prefects running contests and such and elect somone with a nifty label who takes care of the common room. Maybe elect another HOH and they can go back and forth with duties, so they don't get weighed down and then one can be there if one has to go on hiatus. Or have a prefect who's there to take over if needed.

Just a few options to balance it out without making us overly "elite" and whatnot.

This isn't your fault, Jax. I think we've just gotten bigger then we planned and are understaffed at the moment. Which is easily fixable and will eventually be a positive thing =D

I think having Prefects, HoH's, mod for sub-communities... That seems to work really well with another comm that I am involved in. All the while the headmistresses/masters still have supreme reign over all that is allowed or disallowed through out the comm. Something along those lines.

That is almost what we're doing. Except we don't have a "headmaster" there was an expressed dislike for that when we were making Fawkes. So I am the "Senior Head" which is an HoH who also takes on many ofthe Headmaster duties.

I ... have found the situation messier than we like and would be all too glad to switch to the format you've mentioned. However, this isn't really a call I can make, so it's been put to the community.

I really like the "More spread out over more people." I think it will help prevent burn-out and make it easier to find replacements if the need arises.

The major issues with that is there are more holes for things to fall through. As I understood that option it was a comm with no central "power" or whatnot. Which is cool, but I have my doubts of it working XD

it'd be awesome if we could get a few "Sub-HoHs" and "Sub-Prefects" though...

*nods* That makes sense, especially if a system moving in that direction hasn't been working entirely.

Back-ups sound like a really great way of doing it, if only because it means if someone goes on hiatus, there's someone to take over for them.

I'm with akeyoftime on this one. Option 2 sounds good. And I wouldn't mind helping out...!
