Notebooks

Today I rekindled my love for brand new notebooks. I finished my notebook of two years and affectionately copied the front two pages of important information into the new one, folded it up, wrote the from and to dates on the front and tucked him away for hibernation in my locker ( Read more... )

But there's always that dilemma - nice stationery: should it be reserved for private pleasure, or is it OK to use it at work?

I'm using it at work because it belongs to them. And they are aware of my freakish need to fondle and sniff new stationary now, so its a safe place.

mm. It depends. You seem to be referring to stationery in the strict sense of paper stuff.

I've always felt that it's nice to have my own crocodile shaped stapler and nice ring binders and the like, which I can take home and keep any time I so choose. If it's going to be used up, like a notebook, I don't like to use up my nice stuff at work. I like to think that my crocodile shaped stapler is a nice bit of home, that I'm temporarily keeping at the office.

i want a crocodile shaped stapler. I have nice stuff at work that is mine and i can take home whenever i want. i bought my own mouse mat cos it is pretty. My work notebook I write all the stuff in and take everywhere with me has to be a nice one tho.

And im totally for flowery post its at work. James steals my flowery postits. I would like to get him some that are equally novelty but more macho. And I always take nice pens to work, no way am i using standard issue bics. No way.

I have to confess to bringing 'consumable' stationery to the office - I have flowery post-its on my desk. They cheer things up, alongside my purple pens (not BCC issue either), and distract the scary woman in the post room so that she sends my post without giving me a lecture.

I tried this once, but as the only girl in the village it was another reason for ridicule by the male nerds and geeks.

There is nobody to appreciate the prettyness except for myself, and I have resorted to only having Shania's Christmas frog on my desk.
