Anyone else come away with the implied impression that Gotham and it's situation is a similely for America? In that it's corrupt, and needs to be raised to the ground or refound and resurrected? Just a random thought.

I think the implication was quite overt. In fact, I seem to remember whispering something to Jamie about it when we saw the movie.
