He Didn't Say Goodbye

Brave: August 2001-April 2010

One of the good books I read over the years stated: cats always say “hello” but the never say “goodbye”. That seems to be true for most cats, especially those independent ones that prefer spending their time in the great outdoors, and come inside when it is stormy, or really cold, or terribly hot. Brave was such a cat ( Read more... )

He wasn't just a cat, he was another good friend. Sorry for your loss Fayzee.

Thanks, he was a sweet cat, and I still look for him to be sitting on the picnic table when I get up in the morning, but it has been awhile and I doubt it is going to happen. Cats are their own master, and they know they have our number, and they are right.
(I thought I posted this just a few minutes ago, and I am not certain if it went through, so perhaps there will be two replies.)

I'm so very sorry, Faye.

I, too, know how wonderful a pet's companionship and love can be ... I think about it more and more as I watch my dog MIles approach the end of his days. It breaks my heart, but I still wouldn't trade my time with him for anything.

We should never forget to count our blessings; for the great animal companions that have entered our lives, and the the wonderful people; no one could have been furnished with such an elaborate array of animal associations and people associations than I; even those who are no longer a part of our lives, all made a contribution one way or another; to give love, and have it taken away; seems that is what life has been all about.

Don't give up on him Fay. Theodore disappeared for 8 days, I knew he had to be dead. I heard a meow and looked out and there he was..8 days later thin as a rail, but safe home. He has gained some of his weight back and is more demanding than ever.. Maybe Brave will find his way home.
People that don't know and love cats are missing something.

Ther is always hope, but this time I have a feeling about him. He was gone once before a few years ago for a week or so, and I found him in the north part of town; seems he might have been shut in somewhere for awhile; he would not stay in the pickup with me, (I tried, but he escaped) and almost beat me back to the house. so, we shall see; I still have a slim hope lingering.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about Brave. It's incredible how much we can love these little furry things.

Thsnks for you thoughts, he was a sweet cat, and not only will I miss him, but Giddy does, too. It seems there are always new ones coming along, just yesterday a yellow tabby came and decided he liked the food here, and this morning a three colored cat flew of the steps when I opened the door. I think they have a secret code to tell the others where to come.
