In all his glory, with a bit of his halo disfigured; I looked out just minutes ago and he was hurrying up the walk and now he is
here trying to tell me a story; all I can make out of it is he was holed up somewhere with one of those drainage things that
has shown up just under his ear; Brave, the Bravest Black Cat in Town has returned.

He makes me

My cats always responded well to a drug called clindamycin (think that is spelled right)it is by prescription only. A couple of doses is all it took and my cats were good as new. Cats get in fight with other cats and sometimes an abcess will occur. Sounds like Brave has an abcess that has ruptured.

That is what I usually keep in the refrig. Or at least the name sounds familiar; my neighbor's cat had a problem a couple months ago and I gave the rest to her and the cat was okay. I think Brave is prone to those sores; he tries so hard not to fight, maybe that is why he always gets it. You would like him; he has everyone's number in the neighborhood, and yesterday, three of us were standing out on the steps visiting, when around the corner came Brave, followed by the neighbor across the street; she, with daffodils in her hand, was laughing and said, he came over and looked her in the face, started across the street, looked back for her to come, and lead her to the door for his treat. I told her she better feed him. We just have to laugh at his antics.
I guess there is more to this story, The neighbor was recently diagnosed with overian cancer and is in treatment for several more months. We all try to be there for her, she is always there for us. All we can do it hope; she is such a special person to the entire town. Brave makes her

Animals are more in tune with nature than the humans. If we take the time I am sure we could learn a lot from animals. Brave knows what he is about and I am sure he knows he is pleasing your neighbor. Maybe even helping her overcome the depressing aspects of her disease. You know...A merry heart doeth good like a medicine... or something like that...I would almost be willing to wager he knows your neighbor has cancer.
