Chapter List 2 | Hot Blood
The twelve of them were going to be on some new show, something about cameras following and filming what their training was like from what Taecyeon had heard. Apparently JYP didn’t think the twelve trainees were working hard enough and were all slacking off.
It seemed as though JYP was sending the team off on a M.T (Membership Training/Camp/Team Building) and the boys were ecstatic. Taec found it weird to that his boss wanted to send the group of them on a break when he wanted them to work harder, but Taec pushed that thought to the back of his head, not wanting to jinx that.
The twelve of them had all settled down into the lodge, Taec’s group even won the talent show the producers set them and that meant that the other team had to cook dinner for them. Even though Taec was enjoying himself, he couldn’t help feel something missing.
That was until they heard someone enter the lodge and Taec recognised the pink hoodie wearing male from anywhere.
“Bummie-hyung!” Taec went up to Jay and half hugged him, earning a ‘what’s going on?’ from one of the boys.
“As of today, he will be joining the team.”
“It’s a joke, it’s a joke.” Jay had said, pretending to walk out but Taec was quick to go after him, saying that he couldn’t go.
Unfortunately the so called M.T wasn’t all fun and games as the next morning the now group of thirteen were awoken by the sounds of whistles and two military commanders telling them to get up, change and meet outside, at 6AM. They were made to run miles on the beach and were carried through a series of intense fitness training, causing Taec to want to throw up at one point.
As if the torture were to get any worse, they didn’t get to eat and carried out the vigorous fitness training the next morning, and the morning after that and so on. He knew Jay was having a hard time as it was, finding himself being put in this group. He had only managed to just get the hang of the Korean culture and now it was like they were in military training. Taec wanted so bad to help Jay out but he couldn’t, there wasn’t anything he could do.
xXx
Jay didn’t understand why JYP decided to send him on the MT as well, and on top of that he had to ride on the ferry alone because he had a separate schedule than the rest of the trainees. He was kind of guttered he didn’t get to ride with the rest of the boys, it would’ve been fun but he guess he’d just have to make the most of it while he was at the retreat and the ride home.
Upon arriving at the lodge, he walked into a room full of trainees standing around; murmurs just reaching him butthe voice that stood out most was Taec’s. But that was probably because he was the only one that sounded happy to see him with his “Bummie-hyung” greeting and walking straight up to him. He felt relieved when he saw Taec but found it to be a tad awkward when he tried to hug the shorter male, resulting in a very awkward hug-slash-pat on the back.
Jay had complained about how training had sucked before but it was nothing compared to what they were being put through now. Waking at the crack of dawn, running shirtless in the snow around the park where the lodge was located, performing push-ups and sit-ups on the snowy ground, the torture just didn’t stop. He had to even witness Taec throw up in the middle of their run and receive a bruised face and blood nose from the boxing activity. It hurt him to see Taec in this condition.
There had also been a phase where three of the trainees were so close to elimination but luckily were saved by the tears of the group. It proved that the boys had grown closer together and they had protested to the leaders that it was unfair to send three people home like that, and that it was supposed to be up to the audience at home. Jay was lucky it wasn’t him that had been in the firing line and he was even more relieved when Taec was safe as well, not to say he wasn’t sad to see the three chosen nearly leave, especially Kwon, even though he was some ssanti, kkap freak, he had known him since his first day, and that bond would always have been there.
…
In the end, the torture paid off as the thirteen of them got to perform as a group at a concert Mnet had set up and it was a success. Jay felt he had grown closer to Taec and even though he wouldn’t admit it, he actually liked having the big dork around, even if he hadn’t taken much of a liking to him in the first place. He felt weird if Taec wasn’t there, so being put in the same group performance as him he was happy, and he always got to witness Taec’s improved rapping skills, Jay didn’t even know Taec had.
A/N: So this chapter was more about what Taec and Jay went through during their last trainee days, not a lot of TaecJay like the first chapter but the next is when 2PM debuts =)
