hey, I happen to be the friend, roommate and business partner of the woman who drew, designed, and CG'd your user icon, and I was asking if she was aware that you were using it. I know it says clearly on the site you linked to to get that image that the artwork is her property, and to ask before using, and not to steal. so, she says she doesn't know you, that you never asked, and asked if I could comment on her behalf.

See, it's not a huge issue, using the art. It's the not asking. and it's the fact that you've linked to her site to get the image, meaning that every time your LJ calls up the image, it's hitting on her site and taking bandwithd off my server. and that's stealing, too.

so, take the image down. contact the artist, if you want an icon with her art, and always give credit where credit is due.

hey there! i'm the person who's art you've stolen. i will honestly say, it's flattering that you took enough time to look around my site and liked the work you found there enough to want some for your LJ. the fact that you didn't bother to actually contact me and ASK really hurts, though. i put a lot of work into that eyecatch, into the site, and into all of the work featured on it. what you stole without asking equals a good day of my life, between coming up with the original concept for the pose, drawing the lineart, scanning it, cleaning it up, and coloring it on the computer, as well as later preparing it for display in my commissions gallery
