Facebook Shenanigans Monthly Awards FAQ!

Because Allie has alerted me that she does not know how to post an image in a comment <3
I will continually add to this thread and link to it in (hopefully!) future awards posts as more questions come/etc.
So without further ado:

THE MONTHLY FACEBOOK SHENANIGANS AWARDS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I POST AN IMAGE IN A COMMENT?
To post an image in a comment, you first need to upload it to some type of image hosting site. You can upload them to your Livejournal user gallery if you like, but I prefer outside sources (especially since there's no handy button to upload a photo to LJ in the comment box!).
My favourite picture hosting site is Photobucket because it's free and once you have an account, your pictures will NEVER disappear. Ever. I have pictures on my Phobobucket from 2005. Plus, Livejournal allows you to very easily link a photo from Photobucket when you're writing an entry (they've got a partnership of some kind). The downside to Photobucket is that a) it requires an account, and b) it will resize images that are really really large - but this isn't usually a huge problem (no pun intended).
However, there are lots of other options - the two most popular sites after Photobucket are Tinypic and Imageshack, neither of which require an account.
Tinypic (downside - pictures deleted after a year or so)
Imageshack
And there are plenty more if you look around.

So, now that you've got your image uploaded to a site, the site should give you a few options about ways to link to your pic. You want to find the one that looks like this:
http://hostingsite.com/myimagename.jpg
This is your image's url. Copy that url and go to the comments page, where you've prepared to make a new comment. Remember, you need to include the ENTIRE url, including the http://.

Now, in the comment box, type the following:

See that xyz? That's where you're going to paste the url to your image. When you're done, it should look like this:

Remember to include those quotation marks - this code won't work without it.

And tada! That's it!
Now, when you post your comment, your image will show up as an image.

WHAT IS "BEST ONE LINER"/HOW DO I NOMINATE A ONE-LINER?
"Best One Liner" is a category where you can nominate a single status update or comment - and ONLY a single comment.
Of course, sometimes it's hard to just cap a single comment. For this reason, we allow you to cap a few surrounding comments/the status the one-liner was posted on for context.  However, you must note in your comment which specific comment you are nominating.

For example, if I wanted to nominate Apollo's comment here:

I would not only post the cap, but also include something along the lines of "Nominating Apollo's "Dance, puppets, dance~" comment."  (As I did here.) This is so the awards mods (Allie and myself) know what to specify when we're creating voting polls, and so other members know specifically what's being nominated when they're considering their votes and/or nominations.

More coming soon! Feel free to comment if you've got a question of your own, and we'll do our best to answer it and add it to the list!
