Saturday morning we walked over to the terminal next to the hotel to get on our flight to Paris.
Heathrow does not like to tell you what gate your flight is at until boarding is about to start.
Our flight said "gate will be displayed in 5 minutes but it will be terminal B.
So, off we went to Terminal B on the shuttle.
5 minutes later, no gate. I looked it up on the App and it said "gate A11, now boarding".
The only way to get back to A is walk. It’s a long way. You can see B in the background from this shot of our gate.
But, we got there in time and got on the plane to France. I had never been to France before (despite it being the land of Franks…) but didn’t get a good view due to clouds.
Finding the rental car place took some effort. This would be a pattern.
But, we got our car and set off for the 3 hour drive to Bayeux.
We got there without problem, found parking near the cathedral and walked off to the museum with the tapestry.
I've wanted to see this tapestry for at least 50 years and was very happy to finally be there and see it. I've thought about it several times, but this is the first time we made the time to go over there.
They don’t let you take photos of the tapestry itself. But, the rest of the museum is fair game.
Ooo, benches…
It was too early to get into the hotel, so we walked around town and visited the cathedral.
We did go over to the hotel when they opened. The room was quite nice with a balcony where you could see the cathedral as the sunset.
For dinner we walked over to a restaurant nearby that was recommended and had a name we liked.
We had to wait a bit for a table so walked around town some more.
Dinner was very good.
Then, back to the hotel and are room.
