latest strips

Is anyone getting kind of bored with the series of strips lately? I know that Lynn wants to give us a background on the visit, but come on...it feels like she's using them as fillers.

I hope she gets back to some action soon.

I agree completely. She'd better have something good for us next week.

From what I understand, It's really important to Lynn to be respectful of native culture, and make sure that people understand that it isn't a "stunt" to have Liz in a community like Mtigwaki. I think this series is doing a really good job of presenting powwow without marginalizing it and while reminding people that First Nations people are just that... people.

I've really enjoyed it!

A week was good. Two weeks is too long.

If anyone didn't remember that they were people, then I think that excellent first week did the job. The second week... well, I think she's being more respectful of Indian culture than she is of her readership.

It's also worth noting that strips that showcase the native culture can easily be done as one-off strips with Liz interacting. In fact, it could make for a great pause in another story arc with some major character development.

I admit I was surprised when it was still powwow strips this week, and I do enjoy Mtigwaki more when it's conversational instead of this "reminiscent" style she pulls out occasionally.

I was pretty much dragging through this second week, too. I appreciate what she´s trying to do and say but still...

I agree. It was interesting for the first week or so, but now it's getting a bit repetetive, especially since Liz is just sort of floating around in the background.

Still, today's strip seemed to indicate that it'll be winding down soon. I'm hoping for a Mike/Dee storyline, especially since Robin's and Merrie's birthdays are coming up.
