Our living room is covered in a thick layer of baking soda.

FUCK YOU, SMOKE SMELL, YOU GUNNA DIE!

Next week: Rent/Buy a steam vac and ATTACK THE HOUSE.

GO FOR IT, KAT! I just had that (losing) war with cat pee. Hopefully smoke smell dies more epicly than the smoke smell. Does the baking soda really work?

I have a little steam vac (a mean green if you wanna look it up) that you can borrow if you want, but it's really just for tough spots. I think I need to rent/buy a rug doctor again too. I'll pitch in with you, if you want.

o.O I'm a little confused about what's going on lately. Am I still allowed to comment here? If not, I guess you can delete my obnoxiousness.

So far, the house's smell has been reduced largely... but thats from what I can tell. Its one of those things where I can't smell it if I'm in the house for a long period of time, and finally got fed up after being at work and doing laundry, came home to horribly mustiness and the sudden urge to ROLL THE COUCH AND SMOKE IT. I figure if the house doesn't smell like smoke I won't have that whole furniture smoking fetish that continues to plague me. So, Baking soda is being given a try--- I will know how well it works when I come home from work today ( ... )

Well, do you want to try to figure out this shit together? Seems some sort of talking needs to be done. Should we do this via e-mail?

A.) BAKING SODA WORKED. Its shocking, but it seems to have worked. There's a subtle aroma that will inevitably stay there until I've Febreeze and steam-vacced the mother fuck out of it, but so far, damn-near-clean smelling house! SHOCK AND AWE!
Well. Other than the distinct "Cats live here" smell that ACTUALLY manages to overpower the "ferrets live here" smell when the Ionic-thingie is on.

B.) Sent an overly long, twisty slightly confused and confusing E-mail, hopefully we'll get all this shit out on the table. :)

C.) What kind of Steam-Vac should I invest my amazing invisible money in? I have no idea-- I probably won't be using it anyway, because I HATE to Vacuum, but I don't know a good steam vac from a bad steam vac from a vaccum with a soda bottle attached that would inevitably stain the house and not make it cleaner. My logic is epic fail when it comes to vacuums.
