I'm someone who thrives on change. The more things stay the same, the more dull they are, in my opinion. I can settle into routines and enjoy them, but only if those routines get mixed up sometimes, only if the individual pieces aren't "and now I do this" but are instead "and now I come up with something interesting." I had a problem with the weather at Mudd myself; I'm not good at noticing that time is passing, and not having seasons really exaggerates that. So yes, I moved from SoCal to Boston in part for the weather.

I am appreciating weather more and more. I cannot believe how sad I am that I spent an entire summer and only saw 1 little storm... in the mountains near Austin, TX. It only rains at night here, and by mid-day, all traces of precipitation are erased.

Hmm...I find the weather near Pasadena to be quite variable. There's fall-colored leaves, snow, beaches, deserts, etc. The thing is that the weather depends more on location than on time, but I might even prefer it that way, because I have more control over where I am than over when I am. Since I've moved from Raleigh to Pasadena, it's gotten a lot easier to get snow.

It doesn't compare to the Midwest though. And you people don't have real thunderstorms!
