Indiana! I am thrilled about Indiana! Today I plan on calling my grandmother and telling her how awesome she is! And same for my aunt! And my sister! With many exclamation points!!!
Yeah, masterdnas, icecream6 -- thanks for not screwing the nation over :-) (though, if IN had gone red and all else stayed the same, we still would have been in same spot we're in now).
You are proud of Indiana? Obama beat McCain in Indiana by a mere 1%. Would you be equally proud if McCain had beaten Obama by 1%? After all, effectively there would not be much of a difference in terms of what the people think of what they voted for. In both cases half the people voted for one candidate and half for the other. What is so special about the current situation that makes you proud?
As somebody who has spent a lot of time in Indiana I can say that I would be. It's a state where Obama had a lot of preconceptions to overcome and I am pleased to see that a good number of people overcame their preconceptions and voted for him. Even if McCain had gotten 51% of the vote, it would still be evidence that the culture there is not only capable of change but is actually changing. That certainly pleases me, at least.

But man... after canvassing in NH the days before the primary, it is so good to win a state (just barely!) that you were working in...
