Free Flight Wifi

Dec 11, 2009 01:41

In the "you scratch my back, I scratch yours" category --- GoGo in-flight wifi (available on most flights) is offering me a free wifi session for each person to whom I give a free wifi session! (Assuming you haven't used GoGo before.) If you are interested in getting free wifi on your next domestic flight, let me know!

That makes absolutely no sense, but I'd be interested.

Oh, and if it's something where you have to hand over my email address, drop me a line for a disposable address to give you.

Heh. I think they're worried that either (a) people won't know about it or (b) people won't think it's good until they've tried it. So they're coming up with all these ways to introduce people to the service, hoping they'll continue to use it after their first time!

Given that I have in fact never heard of it, I suspect your definition of "most flights". On what airlines?

Point. I've used them on American Airlines, Virgin America, and Airtran, but I realize now that I just happened to be flying the right flights. They're on all Virgin and Airtran flights, on "over 150" American planes (all 767-200s, some MD-80s, and soon on 737s), "will be available on more than 300 domestic [Delta] aircraft by the end of 2009", on United between JFK and SFO or LAX, and on USAirway's A321s beginning early next year.

Having used them, the speed is pretty good (especially considering you're on a plane) and it's quite reliable (I stayed on IM throughout my flights and never got disconnected), although it's hard in a cramped seat, especially with a big laptop. :(

I will scratch your back.

I am flying Delta on Monday, and would very much enjoy having it.

Turns out that I can just share the code directly: it's 2475797161hcz. Enter it into the page you get when you load up (you'll have to set up an account) and you'll have free access for the flight.
