Outing an undercover CIA agent hurts our national security. Lying to a grand jury is an obstruction of justice and perjury. On July 19, 2005 the Star Tribune published a short article explaining the President's position on these matters. What we now know from the Washington Post, New York Times and Bloomberg is that Bush's buddy Karl Rove and other leakers in the White House intentionally revealed the identity of an undercover CIA agent to reporters Matt Cooper of TIME and columnist Robert Novak. The objective was to discredit the CIA agent's husband, a critic of Bush's policy in Iraq. President Bush is supposedly a man who keeps his word. Why hasn't he kept it in this case? There needs to be a full accounting to the American people about what happened in this CIA leak. I admire people who are patriotic, who say what they mean, and who do what they say they are going to do. If Bush is a man of his word and is interested in National Security he will fire Karl Rove.
