I saw a good talk by Jane McGonigal at PAX East. She spoke based on her book Reality is Broken, which is about how many of the traits developed in playing games (particularly video games) are terrifically useful to succeeding at life.

In my current state i don't know anything useful to say other than "amen". (The non-useful blather follows.)

Remember, tho, that your team has the privilege of turning down business because your talents are both rare and valued enough that the laws of supply and demand give you the option.

This isn't meant to deflate your point -- if anything, it's a more-power-to-ya hurrah. That said, tho, i raise the question of how we can build a world where the worth of people is paid out as it "should" be (whatever we decide that means) instead of by the rules of a twisted economic monstrosity.
