I write this from the Northbound Acela, returning home to Boston at the end of - I think - my third trip in as many weeks. Perhaps it’s the fourth. I’ve learned that it’s better to not spend too much time counting the little wounds, tracking the indignities. Now (after my voicemail) I find your journal entry and the opportunity to catch up! I'm glad you posted. Hotel hopscotch sounds like a drag. What do the big chains do for their Platinum status members? Free orange juice?

Sorry the travel wears on, and sorry Boston's OWS scene isn't more inspiring.

FWIW, we're not exactly the establishment. We're more the neutral crowd -- those stuck in our ruts with too much to lose to join the rebellion but not enough to ignore it, either. Such is life.

... and if you ever doubt yourself, remember that whole flying-into-an-earthquake-aftermath-to-help-people-dying-in-an-impoverished-nation thing.

Up
