For those people who are big supporters of second amendment rights, it sounds like McCain agrees with most of the complaints that I have heard people utter.

Palin, despite how good McCain is/was (he's different than he was in 2000), is not good news. Anyone who tried to fire a librarian for not letting her censor books is evil in my book. Censorship is bad.

He's a goddamn sellout who's pandering. Indeed, the whole Republican party is. Their relationship with the NRA is very assymetrical, not the buddy-buddy love cuddle orgy our media would have us believe it is. The most egregiously stupid and nonsensical import restrictions were slapped on during the Bush I years, and the closure of the registry for legally owned machineguns was under Reagan.

As for McCain, he's shown a thorough misunderstanding of the "gun show loophole," and voted on a bill that would increase prosecution and punishment for the many, many technicalities that the AFT goes apeshit over, like spelling things wrong.

For that, and sooooooo many other reasons, McCain can go to hell.
