Wow. I can't believe they didn't check you when you needed to push. I'm sorry about the pitocin. You've got 24 hours once your water breaks, and it's certainly possible to get IV antibiotics, so I'm not sure why they were flipping out that early, but eh. That's the medical profession for you. I'm glad everything went so well other than that, though! Many congrats and well wishes for all three of you.
Well, technically they'd checked about an hour prior and I was only 3-4 centimeters. Since she was my first there was "no way" I could've gotten to the point of being ready to push so fast. When I was in the whirlpool they decided they had better check me and called the midwife who was waiting when I got out and back to bed... and by that point Kassie's head was already beginning to crown, so it was fairly obvious I'd given the finger to however things were "supposed" to go

Hah, I just had an extremely funny idea. In a few years, we should have a Geekfest reunion and make "Uncle" Zac watch the five kids while we couples get a night on the town. Hilarious to think of him trying to deal with all those little ones, since I'm sure Kassie and the twins will be no less terrors than mine.
Part of me wants to laugh at that... and the other part is concerned that Zac would have a far easier time than we'd like to think... I could totally see him being awesome at it, especially with a group of nerdy little rugrats.
