We're finally here, set up, and starting to settle in. Still have loads of unpacking and organizing to do, things to take care of, and sleep to catch up on, as well as a new area to acquaint ourselves with, but things have settled down enough at this point that I can make a post

Wow, that place looks awesome! Man, that beats our view by a country mile. We're right by a retention pond area in our complex, but we're on the wrong side of the building to see it so we instead get a lovely view of... well, the Gandy highway. Or the dog track, depending on which window you look from.

It is gorgeous, we all love it to death. The whole area is beautiful, and really well kept. We had checked out places online prior to coming down to look at them in person and I never expect stuff to look like the the pictures - but this one does for sure. In fact, it's actually nicer than the pictures, when you have the chance to walk around and see it. The guy who showed us around (he was new, only working there for a month) said he thought it felt more like a resort, and I have to agree. Feels sort of like we're on vacation. Minus... all the damned boxes we've got piled around the place that need unpacking. Blarg.

Wow, that does look amazing! I'm very relieved to hear your mom's down there too. It never occurred to me that she was moving too. With all the medical crap and then a grandkid, it would have sucked for you guys to be so far apart!

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly why she moved too. We had all joked about moving together, but hadn't really thought it possible. There were just too many things holding us back. But then everything changed and so we decided to just... go for it. And we're glad we did!
