Fired because of a...blog post??

I just learned today that some companies are searching employees' blog posts for any complaints about their coworkers or bosses. And fire them for it. That is so ridiculous.

Speaking of blogs, I will be creating an "Allison Goes to Denmark" blog for friends and family. I'll still have this for more personal posts.

It's public postings that are negative that can be a problem. It's been going on for a long time now. Friends lock all posts about work, don't use names. Legally speaking, it can be considered libel. It's not that it's a blog, it's that it's a public statement against the company and or betraying trade secrets.

Practice safe 'net!
