1: Job - Get a resume together and contact a service like Bartech, or some ohter. Many of them have temporary positions, but they also have temporary-to-permanent stuff, too. They're faster than dealing with some companies, directly.
2: The car - I know a mechanic (my father), and he'd charge for parts, and probably 50% or less for labor, taking you significantly far South of $500.
3: The money - File for unemployment insurance immediately. You can do it on-line, so it's far faster.
I'm really sorry you're going through this crap, and I wish I knew something more I could suggest or do.
4: Oh, yeah: the snots - Make sure you keep spitting and blowing your nose. If you swallow any of that, you'll keep the infection going. If your sinues are hurting, try an over-the-counter pain reliever ( ... )

Another friend of mine was looking (is looking) for another job, and when I relayed the information to the person I'm working through at Bartech, she told me to have that person send her resume, and she'd look into getting her a job at Detroit Edison.
Send a resume to (419) 897-7914, and call Jennifer Buckley at (419) 897-7915, extension 353. Their branch is in Ohio, but don't worry: you don't have to go down there to interview, or anything like that. They've also got a division located in Livonia. Her e-mail address is jbuckley@bartechinc.net. Call her and tell her that Isaac recommended you speak to her, or anyone, at Bartech. Send her your resume, this weekend, so it'll be there when she gets back Monday (at about 8-something in the morning). If you have access to one, fax her too.
I really want this to work for you.

6: the AG - If it's the county or state AG, call their office and explain to them at first opportunity that this is all the result of a mistake. Usually, prosecutors are more lenient on those that actually take the time to talk to them, and explain what's going on. It's not like you've committed a class A felony, so it shouldn't be that bad.
7: the living situation - Unfortunately, you're going to have to wait that one out, unless you've got a friend that's willing, able and eligible to do the roomie-thing. Until then, again unfortunately, this looks to be the least of the problems. Once you've begun collecting unemployment insurance or get a new job, and get the other stuff brought up to date, then you can start worrying about moving to another city.
